Squashtastic!

And there's more in the fridge.  I wonder if you can make Granny's zucchini cupcakes with squash?

  2. I don't know why not. Just grate them up and use those suckers! I have some pattypan squash in the freezer that I'm going to make into zucchini *something*. I wonder if I have enough cocoa for the cupcakes....hmmmmm.

  4. I think it's time to find out if yellow squash makes good cupcakes. It will all cook up tasty.

  6. What the heck are those? With that bi-color pattern, they look like gourds. I've never seen a bi-color squash. And how did you get ripe squash already? I just have the first tiny male flower buds on mine.

  7. Lou, they're called zephyr. They're a squash, but just prettier than your typical straight neck. I planted the transplants in March. We really didn't have a winter here.

Wound up having enough zucchini to make the cupcakes. YUM! Some of the squash went in hummus. Counter is still full! Man, I love summer.
