- I'm a wife, teacher and mom of two who came by gardening accidentally in order to appease a fussy child in a big-box hardware store. He saw yellow pear tomatoes (his favorite color) and we became container gardeners. As it goes with anything involving children, my interest far outlasted his and now we have a square foot garden in our corner yard. As long as we can battle the bugs and keep the dog from the soil, we might have some fun.

Just my reaction to the leaf miners. They came way too early.

ReplyDeleteI am convinced you can't get rid of them down South in our heat. All you can do is plant early and plant a lot of plants. That is what I am trying, but I am frustrated too.
Terrible bugs and totally useless!
ReplyDeleteEverything is early this year. I went out of town and my mint was wiped out by spider mites. The web went from the top of the plant to the bottom and the mites were crawling up and down. I've never seen so many before. Not even going to ask what next.

ReplyDeleteNo squash bugs but I did find thousands of aphids on my spinach. I just had to pick it all and wash those bugs down the drain.

Grasshopper nymphs here... ALREADY!!! It's going to be really bad because of our mild winter!
