If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
And again.
And again
And eventually you'll wear Mother Nature down.
I present to you: My First Carrots Ever
Once I pulled the huge one on the right, I got overzealous and pulled others. I'll leave the rest for a while and see if they fatten up.
I'm stupidly happy.
I'm so glad you got carrots. You won't believe how wonderful they are. I never knew they could taste so much better than the store bought.
ReplyDeleteFirst carrots, eh? My planting last year didn't fare too well. Maybe i'll try them again...
ReplyDeleteStupidly happy, now that is pretty happy! Congrats on your first carrot harvest.
ReplyDeleteThat's so nice. Carrots can be a real treat.
ReplyDeleteThey tasted fantastic to boot! Even without peeling them. The boy ate one and I gobbled down the reset. Just fantastic.
ReplyDeleteCongrats. I grew my first last year. They really hate my heavy clay soil, but it was finally good enough to make the carrots happy.
ReplyDeleteHoly carrots! I've got some green tufts sticking out of my carrot patch so I hope it's not just carrot toupees and that the green tufts are attached to real live carrots this time around!
ReplyDeleteDid you taste yours yet???
Kate, they were amazing. Store carrots have a dried, bitter, lingering after taste that makes me turn my nose up. These were sweet through and through with no lingering bitterness.
ReplyDeleteYa!!!! Nothing like eating garden carrots! I love them!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about planting a 4x8 bed of carrots next year!
