The Moth Man Commeth

I have no idea what this little doo-jobie is, but he and a buddy were hanging around under my garlic leaves. They were very complacent and sat right there as I picked them up. They were all white except for a brown spot on the undersides of their heads.
I picked both of them off and sent them on their way....to the neighbor's yard. I'm sure they'll have the chance to come back, but I didn't want to kill them if I didn't know what they were.

The morning comes early. Sweet gardening dreams.

  1. Very bad moth.......it's the one that lays eggs that turn into the cabbage worm.

  2. Well yuck, then. I don't know why, but I thought those moths were more of the yellow variety and what is that thing then doing on the garlic?

Creepy, they were, just hanging out there without a care in the world.

  3. Cabbage worms, huh? I wonder why they were hanging around your garlic then. So odd.

  4. Yikes...bad moth! I had a case of those last summer and they did lots of damage to my cabbage. Maybe they are just chillin in the garlic and waiting for the cabbage plants to arrive : ) Good luck!

  5. Cabages were so there. As a matter of fact, I harvested one good head yesterday. There's one there that I think is riddled with worms, so I think I'll just throw that one out.
