Lou, they're called zephyr. They're a squash, but just prettier than your typical straight neck. I planted the transplants in March. We really didn't have a winter here.

Wound up having enough zucchini to make the cupcakes. YUM! Some of the squash went in hummus. Counter is still full! Man, I love summer.

No squash bugs but I did find thousands of aphids on my spinach. I just had to pick it all and wash those bugs down the drain.

Everything is early this year. I went out of town and my mint was wiped out by spider mites. The web went from the top of the plant to the bottom and the mites were crawling up and down. I've never seen so many before. Not even going to ask what next.

If it makes you feel any better I got them too. I couldn't believe it, stinking hot weather.

I am convinced you can't get rid of them down South in our heat. All you can do is plant early and plant a lot of plants. That is what I am trying, but I am frustrated too.
