Hopefully this will pass and we will be motivated with the start of spring again. You know just the mention of the word "cat" will get me going- they are now the #1 cause of bird declines in the United States (and they dig up my seedlings and crap on them...). Its illegal to have your pet outside of your yard in most counties/states- some animal shelters will loan out live traps so you can trap them and take them to animal control. That is what I will be doing as soon as my crops go in. Good luck everyone!Atrox_https://www.blogger.com/profile/02011115803170578072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4930778534030920874.post-61267056298779315142012-02-04T22:32:09.037-05:002012-02-04T22:32:09.037-05:00Good to have you back in the saddle Ribbit. As you can see by that time frame, hubby is not a good hunter. It gets dragged (drug?) into the house on shoes and smells up the carpet in the entry hall. I'm tired of grey skies and no snow and smelly cats myself. May I join you for a "nip" at the wine?
:DSuehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10122524042294993949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4930778534030920874.post-44128646630922896522012-02-04T17:09:16.665-05:002012-02-04T17:09:16.665-05:00Laughed out loud several times during this post. You are also not alone in your garden apathy. I ordered seeds yesterday, but I can't say that I look forward to any of the photographing or uploading of any of it this year. Hope that goes away for the both of us! I enjoy your blog!Meganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08619491019764818646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4930778534030920874.post-496424493464643952012-02-04T16:11:42.305-05:002012-02-04T16:11:42.305-05:00Thanks, guys! I wondered if anyone would hang around.

I considered chicken wire when we had dogs and that I understood for my own pets, but these ridiculous cats have gotten under my craw being that we've never had a problem until they started getting fed. Seems like it's the only way to go, however. Rotten, unsolicited miscreants.Ribbithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01460673212389110633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4930778534030920874.post-29074081835890748232012-02-04T15:59:06.506-05:002012-02-04T15:59:06.506-05:00We have a slew of cats that come to the garden. I even give them a nice dry spot to use that I regularly clean out for them. So far it almost works. I still find occasionally misplaced gifts. Sigh. I'm glad to hear from you though. It has been quite some time.Daphne Gouldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17305049560953735881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4930778534030920874.post-68720197529021578242012-02-04T15:57:42.360-05:002012-02-04T15:57:42.360-05:00We have cat troubles here also. I planted my seeds and put the wire over the top, it was a little domed. When the plants started getting close to the top of the wire I removed it. It worked to keep the cats out. This winter I put my tomato cages on top of the beds. The wire worked better than the cages. Need more wire fencing for this year.Peggihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10510899506984653485noreply@blogger.com
